Xilinx Announces Programmable World 2003 With IBM, Agilent, Cadence And 26 Other Industry Leaders

Worldwide Technical Forum to Address Technical Challenges and Solutions Associated With Next-Generation System Design

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Xilinx Inc. today announced Programmable World 2003, a collaborative industry forum sponsored by IBM, Agilent, Cadence, and Xilinx as well as Texas Instruments, Wind River Systems, The MathWorks, Mentor Graphics, Synplicity, Synopsys, Celoxica, Nallatech, and Altium. At this free industry event, engineers will receive solutions oriented, technical sessions on the multi-faceted technologies and design methodologies revolutionizing today's electronic systems design. Last year, over 8,000 engineers attended Programmable World 2002 -- over 10,000 engineers are expected to participate in this year's forum. "Programmable World is designed to provide engineers with easy and timely access to the latest technologies and design methodologies for programmable solutions," said Wim Roelandts, president and CEO at Xilinx. "This is one of the few forums where customers can get insight from a wide-range of industry leaders into multiple technologies -- like processing, programmable logic, digital signal processing, high-speed connectivity and design tools -- in a single location."

Scheduled for May 6, 2003, the forum will be held in multiple locations including Austin, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Columbia (Maryland), Dallas, Long Island, Longmont, Los Angeles, Ottawa, Phoenix, Raleigh, San Diego, San Jose, and Toronto. Additionally, the Programmable World will be held throughout the world with forums in Munich on May 15, Shanghai on June 16, Hsinchu on June 18, Seoul on June 20, and Tokyo on June 24.

A broad array of technical sessions and real design examples will be discussed, including:

  -- Solving connectivity challenges
  -- Using processor cores to optimize system performance and cost
  -- Design methods for integrating new processor architectures in existing
     systems
  -- Next generation digital signal processing
  -- Addressing growing verification challenges for highly integrated
     systems
